How to use Delete PDF Pages

  1. Select your PDF file.

  2. Enter the pages to delete, for example 2, 5-7.

  3. Click Delete pages.

  4. Download the PDF without those pages.

The fastest way to delete pages from a PDF

When you need to delete pages from a PDF — the blank page a duplex scanner added, the cover sheet from a fax, an appendix that no longer applies, the terms and conditions nobody asked for — you do not want a full editor. You want to type the page numbers and get the file back without them. That is exactly what this tool does: enter something like 2, 5-7, click Delete pages, and download.

Ranges and single pages can be mixed freely and in any order. The count you see after upload tells you how many pages the document has, so you can check your numbers against it before running. If you would rather see the pages than count them, the Organize PDF tool shows thumbnails with a delete button on each — better for long documents where you are hunting for the page rather than already knowing its number.

  • Type numbers when you know them; use thumbnails when you do not.
  • Ranges such as 5-7 remove the whole span, ends included.
  • The original file on your device is left untouched.

What happens to the pages you keep

The remaining pages are copied into a new document object by object. Nothing is re-rendered or re-compressed, so text stays selectable, images keep their original encoding and vector graphics stay sharp. The new file is smaller by roughly the share of pages you removed, and sometimes by more, since fonts and images used only on deleted pages are dropped with them.

Interactive elements are preserved on the pages that remain. Bookmarks that pointed to deleted pages are removed, and internal links to those pages stop working, which is expected — there is nowhere left for them to go. Form fields on kept pages continue to work.

  • No quality loss: pages are copied, never rasterised.
  • The file shrinks along with the page count.
  • Fields, annotations and links on kept pages survive.

Mistakes people make, and how to avoid them

The commonest error is counting from the printed page number rather than the physical one. A report whose introduction is numbered i to iv and then starts at page 1 has its page 1 as physical page 5; the tool uses physical positions. Check the viewer's page counter, not the number printed in the footer.

The second is deleting pages from a locked file. A password-protected PDF cannot be rewritten until it is unlocked, so remove the password first with the Unlock PDF tool. And if the goal is to remove information rather than a page — a paragraph, a figure — cropping or deleting does not do that safely; use the Redact PDF tool, which actually strips the content.

Finally, keep a copy of the original until you have opened the result and confirmed the right pages went. The tool never overwrites your source file, but a mis-typed range is easy to make and easier to catch in a five-second check than after the document has been sent.

Why the file never leaves your browser

Every step runs inside your browser, using the WebAssembly and Canvas APIs your device already ships with. No file is uploaded, no copy is kept, and nothing sits in a queue on a server waiting to be deleted — which is also why the tool keeps working with the network disconnected.

The pages people remove are often the reason the document is sensitive in the first place: a salary line from a contract bundle, a page with someone else's data, an internal note stapled to a customer file. Deleting them on a server means the full document, sensitive page included, was uploaded. Here it is not — the page removal runs on your own device, free and without an account.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I delete several ranges at once?

Yes. Combine single pages and ranges with commas, for example 1, 3-4, 9.

What happens if I delete all pages?

A PDF needs at least one page, so the tool will ask you to keep at least one.

Is my document uploaded?

No. Pages are removed locally in your browser.

Can I delete several ranges at once?

Yes. Combine single pages and ranges with commas, in any order — for example 1, 3-4, 9 or 10-12, 2. Spaces are optional.

What happens if I delete every page?

A PDF must contain at least one page, so the tool stops and asks you to keep at least one instead of producing an empty file.

Does deleting pages reduce quality or change the other pages?

No. The kept pages are copied as they are, without re-compression. Text, images and vector graphics are byte-for-byte the same; only the page count changes.

Can I delete pages from a password-protected PDF?

Not while it is locked. Remove the password with the Unlock PDF tool first, then delete the pages, and protect the result again if you need to.

How do I delete pages if I don't know their numbers?

Use the Organize PDF tool instead. It shows every page as a thumbnail with a delete button, so you can remove pages by sight and reorder the rest in the same pass.

Is the document uploaded?

No. The pages are removed in your browser, on your device. There is no upload, no account and no watermark, and it works offline.
